The Directorate-General for National Defence Policy supports the Minister of National Defence in directing national defence policy and the Armed Forces. It provides technical advice on the formulation of the broad lines of action of defence policy, strategic defence planning and external defence relations, as well as being responsible for planning, studying and drawing up proposals for political-strategic guidelines, monitoring and considering their implementation, and is also responsible for promoting and coordinating technical-military cooperation policy.
