INEGI - Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial (Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering) is a Technology and Innovation Centre (CTI), created in 1986, dedicated to carrying out technology-based research and innovation activities, technology transfer, consultancy and technological services, geared towards the development of industry and the economy in general. It is a public, private, non-profit organisation.

The project will expand the EU defence industry's capability and secure European autonomy through cross-border and multi-domain collaboration. Through the development and application of the technologies, the project aims to bring down assembly cost by 40%, save 20% weight, increase production speed by 30%, accelerate the design process by 30%.
