Instituto Pedro Nunes - Associação para a Inovação e Desenvolvimento em Ciência e Tecnologia

Created on the initiative of the University of Coimbra in 1991, the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) is a private, non-profit organisation that aims to promote innovation and technology transfer, establishing links between the scientific and technological environment and the productive fabric. It contributes to transforming the business fabric and organisations in general by promoting a culture of innovation, quality, rigour and entrepreneurship, based on a solid university/company relationship and acting on three fronts that reinforce and complement each other: Research and technological development, consultancy and specialised services; Incubation and acceleration of ideas and companies; Specialised training and dissemination of science and technology. Research and technological development: It has six in-house technological development laboratories. Incubation and acceleration of technology-based companies: Promotes the creation and development of innovative, technology-based companies.
