Marinha Portuguesa

The Navy is a branch of the Armed Forces, endowed with administrative autonomy, which is part of the State administration, through the Ministry of National Defence. The Navy's mission is to "PROMOTE AND PROTECT PORTUGAL'S INTERESTS IN AND THROUGH THE SEA" through three sets of functions, linked to Defence, Security and Authority and Development, which enable Portugal to make free, sustainable and fair use of the sea.
